New age multi-instrumentalist Aeoliah (Ay-oh-lee-ya) is well-known among celebrities for his powerful healing techniques through music. His belief that sound and light are spiritually energized inspired Aeoliah to compose a remarkable variety of recordings and compositions from meditative healing music, guided meditations, to mantras, neo classic romantic music, chill out lounge, and trance dance.

Born in Germany and raised in the United States when he was 10, Aeoliah first started learning music as a teenager while playing the violin. “I remember my parents wanting me to play the violin because that’s what they loved. I didn’t! I didn’t like the sound of a screechy violin and the lessons were dreadful. I always preferred to learn piano, but we couldn’t afford one, so the violin lessons continued for a couple of more years. Later while attending university, I began to improvise on piano in the practice rooms, and spent many hours enjoying just playing and feeling the energy of the piano. Loving it. My biggest inspiration have always been Mozart, Bach, Chopin, Schubert, Faure, and so many other amazing classical composers who inspired and paved the way for my musical expressions and compositions.”

Aeoliah went on to graduate with honors with a degree in fine arts from the University of New Mexico in 1972. But it was in 1979 during the creation of his painting “Music of the Spheres” (see picture below). When Aeoliah realized that light, color and sound were somehow instrinsically connected as pure universal energies. This realization inspired him to embark on a musical path to create pure sound frequencies that are connected to color and light.

“This became my primary inspiration to create with light, color and Solfeggio sound frequencies which I am now able to express more fluidly through my videos and movies that showcase and express this universal energy.”

Two years later in 1981, he released his first album, Inner Sanctum, which was all improvisation.

“I truly didn’t have any real confidence that I could create an album on my own, so I invited Larkin, a lovely flute player, and Don Robertson to assist me on keyboards and the technical aspect of creating an album. Two lovely ladies from Malibu donated their big golden Harp for me to record in a studio in Los Angeles, and that’s how it all started.”

The second album, The Light of Tao was also an improvisational album with rich textures of electronic synth layers and acoustic instruments such as flute, harp, piano, sitar, and electric guitar.

“I loved the collaboration with these wonderful musicians and recording live in a professional studio. Some beautiful magic happened in that studio. I gradually began to trust my instincts and eventually, I was able to translate into music what I was feeling deep in my heart and soul.”

By the third album, I had the confidence to manifest my own album and Majesty was the first album that I composed and wrote out the notes and chords on paper. It was his fourth album, Angel Love that catapulted him to the top new age charts and gradually became a worldwide New Age Classic.

In the next few decades, Aeoliah released a variety of albums expressing his wide range of musical genres, guided meditations, music videos, books, and apps.

“I never wanted to get stuck in a little box, even though a lot of people relate to me primarily as a new age healing music artist, which I love and appreciate. However those healing sounds extend into other genres such as neo classic romantic music with rich uplifting melodies, chill out lounge music, and trance dance. All these genres wanted to come through me to fulfill a part of my musical destiny to express a wider and more unlimited range of music that is equally valuable and fulfilling to me as an artist and composer. This includes my integration of cultural world music genres from Asia, India, and the Middle East. I wanted to incorporate these diverse musical cultures into some of my more recent compositions to expand, embrace, and express the harmony, beauty, and peace of all nations.”
